AT&T Missouri Names a New President
AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) has announced that Cindy Brinkley, president of AT&T Missouri since 2002, has been appointed to senior vice president-Talent Development and chief diversity officer at AT&T’s headquarters in San Antonio. In her new role, Brinkley will be responsible for leadership development, workforce planning and diversity at AT&T.
Since joining the company in 1986, Brinkley has held numerous public affairs positions in Texas, California and Arkansas. In Missouri, she has served on St. Louis Civic Progress, the Civic Council of Greater Kansas City and on the boards of Harris-Stowe State University and the St. Louis Zoo. She is chair of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra and Hawthorn Foundation.
"Missouri is my home state," Brinkley said. "I will greatly miss it and my friends in the community, but I also look forward to a challenging new assignment at AT&T."
Replacing Brinkley is David Nichols, senior vice president-External Affairs at AT&T California in Los Angeles. Nichols has held that position since 2001.
Nichols currently manages corporate affairs, industry relations, government affairs and community relations activities. He joined the company in 1980 and worked in Wichita, Kan. He has held a variety of public affairs positions in Kansas and California and was president of Nevada Bell in Reno, Nev.
He has served as chair of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, Sheriff’s Youth Foundation and United Way of Greater Los Angeles. A native of Wichita, Nichols graduated from the University of Kansas.
"I look forward to living and working in Missouri and becoming involved with the community," Nichols said. "I am also excited about the telecommunications environment in Missouri, which has been improved in the past several years because of some progressive leadership in the Legislature."
